}The only distillery on the Isle of Skye, set on the shores of Loch Harport. The distillery was founded in 1830 by two doctor’s sons and was established in 1831. The distillery was expanded in 1900. In 1960 the distillery was damaged by fire and had to be rebuilt. Double distillation was adopted in 1928 but it still runs on five stills.
