Nyetimber

Nyetimber was first planted in 1988 by Chicago couple Stuart and Sandy Moss, with around 13 hectares of the classic Champagne varieties. The first vintage was 1992, but release was held back for 5 years to allow the wine to reach its best, a policy that still holds today. The estate grew in planting and reputation under the Mosses until they retired in 2001. In 2006, the estate was purchased by Dutchman Eric Heerema, who already had vineyards in the area, and it is now the largest UK vineyard with 173 hectares currently planted.
