North Port/Brechin

North Port was originally named Townhead Distillery when it was founded in 1820. It was renamed Brechin Distillery in 1823. The name was changed again in 1839, this time to North Port Distillery. The distillery was closed from the mid 1920s to the mid 1930s and again during WWII. The distillery was mothballed in 1983 and turned into a supermarket after it was sold in 1990.
