Krug - Jeroboams

Krug

Krug was established in 1843 by Johann-Joseph Krug and is currently owned by LVMH, enjoing a reputation as one of the very best. All the wines at Krug undergo primary fermentation in small 205 litre oak barrels. Each cru is vinified separately, with no malolactic fermentation, and the two rackings are done by gravity. Reserve wines are transferred to stainless-steel tanks. The Grande Cuvée NV is blended from anywhere between 20 and 30 sites in Champagne, with almost all being rated Grand Cru. The house also make two fabulous and vert rare single varietal and single vineyards wines, in exceptional vintages only. The Clos d’Ambonnay comes from a walled 0.68 hectares plot of Pinot Noir and the Clos du Mesnil from a walled 1.84 hectare plot of Chardonnay. Both are extraordinary wines that require 20 years to reach their peak.
