Glenelly

This 125 hectare former fruit farm was purchased in 2003 by May de Lencquesaing, the octegenarian former owner of Château Pichon Lalande. 65 hectares are planted to the Bordeaux varietals, along with a little shiraz and chardonnay. There is a gravity flow winery, rainwater is harvested and all pesticides and chemical fertilizers are eschewed. The winemaker is Luke o’Cuinneagain, a South African who trained at Château Angelus and Château de Fieuzal and more recently was the assistant at Rustenberg.
