Fincas Patagonicas

This winery is owned by Patrica and Jorge Ortiz, who have been married for 28 years and who have 5 children. Patricia, who now runs the company, trained as a doctor and has practiced in the USA as well as in Argentina, whilst Jorge is currently a partner in one of the country’s top law firms. They own a total of just over 1,000 hectares, of which 226 are planted to vines, some in Salta province, but mostly in Mendoza, notably in the very high altitude Tupungato region. Some of the vineyards here are at over 4,000 feet altitude, producing exceptional fruit. The estate is also a significant producer of high class olive oil. The wines here are made by Fabián Valenzuela and are sold under the Tapiz brand name.
