Chateau Monbousquet

This historic property had a fine reputation throughout the 18th and 19th Centuries, however it fell into obscurity during the 20th Century, before being purchased by Gerard Perse in 1993, who despite his stellar portfolio, still lives here. He totally rebuilt the winemaking facilities and restored the 32 hectares of vineyard to their former glory and Monbousquet is now a darling of wine critics. A blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, it is always a rich, silky textured wine, with enviable concentration owing to the painfully low yields.
