Bellbird Spring

Founded in 2002 by Tom and Sheila Porter on their return to New Zealand after years away in London, there are two separate vineyards here, the Home Block and Block 8. Their son Guy, an oenology graduate of Adelaide, is the winemaker and the emphasis here is on the highest quality possible and artisanal techniques. To this end, the Sauvignon is gently whole bunch pressed before fermentation in old oak barrels and extensive lees ageing, bringing a rounded mouthfeel and a creamy texture. This fabulous winery is a genuine rising star.
