Aimery Sieur d’Arques

This Cooperative was created in 1946 and currently has 400 member growers farming a total of 2,800 hectares of Appellation vineyard. 40% of the production is sparkling and they are by far the most important producer of sparkling wines in the Limoux region. Limoux has an ideal climate for making fizz, as although it is in the South of France, it is at altitude and is cooled by the Pyrenées to the South. The wines here are bottle fermented and aged and the Blanquette is based on the local Mauzac grape, characterised by apple and dried apricot flavours, whilst the rosé is made from Chardonnay with a little Pinot Noir and Chenin and is a delicious cocktail of summer fruits.
