Dominus Estate - Jeroboams

Dominus Estate

Dominus was created in 1981 when Christian Moueix, in partnership, purchased the 42 hectare Napanook vineyard near Yountville in the Napa, a fabled terroir. Planted to Cabernet Sauvingon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, for the first 14 years just one wine called Dominus was produced. It is undoubtedly one of the greatest wines made in California, but is structured and reticent and really needs at least a decade in bottle to begin to show its excellence. In 1996 Napanook, made in a more accessible and easy style was added to the range, followed in 2007 by Othello, mostly from younger vines, but displaying its pedigree and representing very fine value.
