Chateau Malescot-St-Exupery - Jeroboams

Chateau Malescot-St-Exupery

Owned by the Zuger family since 1955, the estate is currently run by Jean-Luc Zuger. Classified as a 3rd growth in 1855, the property consists of 23 hectares of vineyard, planted with 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. In a very poor state of repair when it changed hands, the wines from Malescot were not especially memorable for most of the 60s, 70s and 80s. The last 20 years has seen a huge improvement here, but as yet prices have not risen in line with the quality. La Dame de Malescot is the second wine and always offers great finesse and charm.
