Paxton, McLaren Vale - Jeroboams

Paxton, McLaren Vale

Established in 1979 by David Paxton, this estate is still family owned and run by David and his children and with a five star rating from James Halliday is one of McLaren Vales most celebrated producers. Self-taught, David concentrated on growing and selling some of the best fruit in the region until 2000, when the dream of making wine under his own label was realised, with his son, Michael, the winemaker. Since 2005 the 71 hectares of vineyards have all been farmed following biodynamic principles and there are seven wines produced, all made exclusively from estate grown fruit. Paxton was also the first winemaking company to join Œ1% for the planet a global network of companies that donate 1% of their turnover to environmental organisations worldwide.
