Georges Vesselle
The Vesselle family have been cultivating the land in Champagne since the 16th Century however, the Georges Vesselle Champagne house only came into being 50 years ago. It is now run day to day by Eric and Bruno Vesselle and produces only Champagne from its own vineyards. These amount to around 18 hectares in the Grand Cru vineyards of Bouzy, famous as one of the best villages for Pinot Noir. Unsurprisingly, bearing this in mind, the estate is planted to 90% Pinot Noir, with just 10% Chardonnay. The resulting style is full bodied and rich, yet with the elegance one would expect from such auspicious terroir.
