Domaine Raquillet

François and his wife Emmmanual are the 11th generation to run this 10 hectare domaine, having taken over in 1990. Whilst they have a couple of holdings in the côte de Beaune, it is Mercurey they are rightly famous for, arguably making the best wines in the appellation. The Vieilles Vignes come from a plot of 40 year old vines and spends a year in mostly new oak and shames many more famous and much more expensive burgundies.
