Domaine la Moriniere

This estate is part of the Château Ragotière, a Muscadet producer that has been in the Couillaud family for 6 generations. The property extends to 70 hectares, which includes the 40 hectare Château Morinière. Twenty years ago they planted 17 hectares of Chardonnay on a south facing slope with the resultant wine part fermented in French oak, part in tank. The wine shows rich savoury notes and has a delightful freshness to it and recently came 4th in the ‘Chardonnay du Monde’ competition from a field of over 900 wines.
