Domaine Gardies

This biodynamically run estate of 35 hectares has been in the Gardiès family for 7 generations, and is currently run by Jean, who took over in the early 90s, and his son, Victor. Amongst the top producers in the region, the vineyards are all in Vingrau and Tautavel – the two finest villages of the Côtes de Roussillon – with ancient Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan grown on lower south and east facing slopes, with Grenache Blanc and Roussanne grown at higher altitude on north facing plots. The domaine also own a second property, Mas Las Cabes, in Espira de l’Agly, which is planted with younger vines and makes wines of instant appeal.
