Cantina Nottola

Before its purchase in the 1980s by Anterivo Giomarelli, this 18th century estate was rather moribund. Giomarelli, however, quickly doubled the vineyard area to 20 hectares, built a winery, and restored the whole property. His son, Giuliano, is now in charge and oversees the winemaking of enologist Riccardo Cotarella. Winemaking is largely traditional using very large Slavonian oak casks, although there are some French oak tonneaux and barriques for finishing the Riserva wines.
