Domaine la Monardiere

Martine and Christian Vache purchased this estate from the Monarde family in 1987 with a collection of family vineyards. 20 years later, their son Damien joined them. Concerned with preserving this heritage, they converted to organic production in 2007, gaining certification in 2010 and use the ‘mass selection’ method to ensure a rich genetic heritage. All the vineyards are hand harvested (not that common here) and they are one of only 45 of the 175 growers in Vacqueyras to domaine bottle. There are 22 hectares, 18 of them in Vacqueyras and red, white and rosé are made, all with minimal intervention in the winery.
