Azienda Agricola Cortese

Although hailing from Trento in the north of Italy, in 2001 Stefano Girelli chose the south-east of Sicily to set up his estate, Feudo di Santa Tresa, as it is the perfect place to pursue his long held passion for organic winemaking. Fifteen years on and he managed to buy the 14 hectare Cortese estate, just a few kilometers away, intending to add it to the produce of Santa Tresa. However, the wines showed such different character, he has released them under a new label. All the wines are made with minimum intervention and using traditional techniques, such as open top fermenters and amphorae for long skin contact ageing.
